The forest department on Saturday was captured by a female leopard, which created a sense of fear between the inhabitants of Sigaranhalli and the neighboring villages in Holenarasipur Taluk from the Hassan district.
The wild animal was about three years old. In recent days he took several cattle and stray dogs from villages. The residents of Sigaranhalli saw the animal several times. They were worried about the safety of their children.
After repeated requirements of villagers, officials of the forest department set up a trap to capture the animal. They placed the bait in a cage near the house belonging to Ravi, the inhabitants of the village. Leopard was imprisoned on Saturday in the cage early in the morning.
