The forest department had to act quickly on Sunday to prevent people from injuring people after laziness entered the recreation house bordering with Udhagamandalam. The animal, which accidentally entered the area, may have been looking for food from the neighboring spare forest spots, was annoyed by local people who tried to capture videos and force the animal to briefly chase the inhabitants.
Videos from the person’s mobile phone were shared online and once informed about the forest department, the officials said they quickly reached their seats and ordered people to return to their homes. Then they performed a thorough search for the area and took the animal back into the forest.
“The locals were warned against a strict action if they get lost too close to the wild,” said Udhai North official. The clerk said that another team of forest staff would achieve the location on Sunday evening and continue to follow the area and watch the signs of the animal.
The divisional forest officer (Nilgiris), S. Gowtha, said Hindu that the separation was watching the movement of the animal to minimize the chances of negative interactions with humans. He said there were no plans to capture and relocate the bear, because he seemed to acclimatize a person, hoping that she had avoided from the forest was a one -time incident.
