Just a few days after the new weekly express train connected by Chikkamagalur and Tirupati started, there were differences in the name of the same. While BJP leaders want the train to be named after DATATRYA, the descendants of Syed Bababudan Shah Khadri designed the name “Bababudan” for the train.
The State Railway Minister V. Somann described on Friday, July 11, from an inauguration train in Chikkamagalur. The opening ceremony will be suitable for the new train by the Vice -Chairman of the MK Pranesh Legislative Council. He claimed that no one would be against it. Member of Lok Sabha Kota Srinivasa Poojari believed that there were several designs similar to the one designed by Mr. Pranesh. “DATTATRYA Express, DataTapeetha Express or DataTapeetha for Srinivasa Peetha are among the proposals,” he said.
Mr. Somanna replied to the requests for the naming of the train and said that the railway board would complete his name on the basis of proposals for elected representatives of Chikkamagalur.
A day later, Syed Faqruddin Shah Khadri, representing the confidence of Syed Budan Shah Khadri Descentants Committee, published a memorandum addressed by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Railway on social media platforms, referring to the naming of the train after Bababudan. Mr. Faqruddin Shah Khadri claimed that the Holy was attributed to bringing coffee beans from Yemen to India, thus laid the foundation for the coffee revolution in the ground. In addition, the holy was respected by the people of all religions, he said.
When Mr. Faqruddin Shah Khadri was contacted by telephone, he said that the memorandum was published on the social media and that it would be sent to the Prime Minister’s office and others concerned on Monday.
Controversy
In the last few decades, Chikkamagalur has witnessed a series over the shrine of Sri Guru Datatreya Bababudan Swamy Dargah in Taluk, worshiped both by Hindy and Muslims. Pro-hindutva forces demanded that this place be announced by the Hindu place of worship. The case has been in court for decades. Meanwhile, progressive organizations support the preservation of the syncretic nature of the shrine.
