Twelve students of class 8 and 9 from government schools in the Nagapattinam district recently participated in the International Dramatic Festival Tamil Nadu, which took place at the Museum Theater Egmore, Chennai, 9 and 10 July. The visit was part of the developmental development of artistic talents organized by the district administration led by the collector P. Akash.
Students from Kechacaprpam, AkkaiPettai, Sanatanam and Xavier Higher Secondary School, Neerulai, Erlier won first place in the district mezzanine theater and were trained according to the type of professional drama.
In Chennai, students witnessed performances of theater groups from Tamil Nadu and South Korea and communicated with professors and students at the Government College of Fine Arts. They received the theater training from the famous dramatic coach of Poongodi Madhiyaras.
The group visited several educational and cultural monuments, including the Children’s Museum, the Scientific Museum, the ethnological gallery and the public library of Connemara. The exhibition helped students overcome fear and explore their artistic talents.
Teachers P. Shanmugasundaram and Uma Maleswari accompanied the group. The initiative was coordinated by the District District Administration (DeEP) program.
