The Brazilian couple accused of smuggling drugs, which was suspected of cocaine, swallowing in the form of capsules, was arrested on Saturday 12 July at Kochi Airport by the Directorate for Sales (DRI).
The arrests were identified as Lucas and his wife Bruno. After suspecting they had a capsule inside the drug, they were taken into custody and moved to the hospital.
Dri Sleuths captured a couple after a tip for alleged smuggling. Although the couple complicated and thoroughly examined their luggage, nothing can be discovered. Then both were subjected to scanning in which the presence of drugs was detected inside. Subsequently, they were moved to a private hospital in Angamala.
Approximately 70 capsules were obtained, cocaine suspected. If it really turns out to be cocaine, then seizures could be behind Crores. Drug swallowing is considered one of the most dangerous ways of smuggling, because the carrier even faces death if the capsules burst inside the body.
Reportedly Dri received details about booking a hotel of steam in Thiruvananthapuram. It is suspicious that they planned to go to Thiruvananthapuram from Kochi, where drug handover was planned. Dri Sleuths further investigate the incident and go through details about the phone call of the couple.
