ND Appachan, President of the Wayanad District Congress Committee (DCC), was reportedly included in the developmental seminar on Saturday (July 12, 2025). The meeting took place before the upcoming local elections in the body.
However, Mr. Appachan later told the media that there was no manipulation, but there were some quarrels among the participants. He also argued that “some Goondas” tried to disrupt the seminar.
According to reports, part of the participants owing loyalty to IC Balakrishhnan, Sulthan Baterna Mla and KL Poulos, a member of the Executive Committee, the Congress Committee of Kera Pradesh, sought a change in the management of the “Mandalam” committee. However, this led to the arguments between two groups and pushing and shoving each other. It is also reported that another DCC official suffered minor injuries during Melee. Mr. Balakrishnan and Mr. Poulose were noticeable at the seminar with their absence.
