
During the tragic incident, the student reportedly set fire to the University campus at the Balasore District of Odisha after filing a complaint against sexual harassment against the teacher, the PTI press agency reported.
The incident occurred in the afternoon after the woman met Director Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College, Balasore, Dilip Ghosh. Previously, she filed a complaint against sexual harassment against a teacher, who is also the head of the department and demanded against him.
In the incident, another male student also suffered burned injuries and tried to save it.
According to the police, both students were rushed to the district headquarters in Balasore. Later, the woman was transferred to Aiims Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
Protest against the accused teacher
The woman was a second year of the integrated B.ED program at university. The police also reported a protest on the university campus for one week requiring a lawsuit against the accused teacher.
After the incident, Dilip Ghosh said, “The student came to me and wanted an action against the teacher. I advised her when she looked tense. She filed a complaint on June 30 and investigated the internal complaint (ICC).”
Meanwhile, the police detained the accused teacher at the Sahadevkhunta police station in Balasore.
According to her friends, a woman has been a woman in the last few days under a harsh annoyance by the Department of the Ministry.
Her agony was not complicated because neither the university office nor the police took any steps against the accused, they said.
The tragic incident caused tensions on the university campus.
Another investigation of this matter is underway.
