Leopard was found dead after he was caught in Snare, allegedly placed to catch the wild buds, in Chinayakanahalli on Friday in Karnataka, Belur Taluk.
Local people noticed a dead animal and informed officials of the forest department. Officials made a post mortem according to the procedures set.
Sourabh Kumar, a representative of the Hassan Forest Forest, said Hindu that the Male Leopard found that he was dead for about four to five years. Officials registered the case and further investigate to identify people who placed snare.
