One year after the assassination of him in the Butler in Pennsylvania, US President Donald Trump opens up with chaos and a quick response that saved his life.
In the new episode of my point of view with Lara Trump broadcast this Saturday (July 12), Trump revises 13 July 2024, an almost fatal attack that calls it a “unforgettable” moment.
“I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I have a blow,” Trump recalled in an interview. “People shouted and fortunately I descended quickly because I think they shot eight bullets.”
Heroism
Trump paid tribute to the 50 -year -old firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was fatally shot.
“One got me and one got another one and one got another,” Trump said. “And one killed Corey, firefighters. Great guy.”
Sniper who saved the day
Trump attributed secret service snipers to Koho as “David”-the stopping of the attacker, 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, in seconds.
“Our sniper, in less than five seconds, managed to get him from a long distance with one shot,” Trump said. “If he didn’t, you would have an even worse situation. It was really bad.”
“Only about four seconds, and that’s when it all stopped,” he added. “He got him perfectly from a very long distance. So we were a little lucky in this respect.”
Liability and failure
While he praised the bravery of the secret service, Trump recognized critical lunges in planning and coordination.
“They were supposed to have someone in the building – that was a mistake,” he said. “They were supposed to have a communication with the local police. They were not tied up and were to be tied.”
Six secret service agents have been suspended without reward and the Senate of the incident is soon expected.
Trump: “They had a bad day”
Despite Trump’s failures, he maintained confidence in the federal agency and expressed confidence in the person responsible for his protection.
“I have great confidence in these people. I know people and are very talented, very capable, but had a bad day,” he said. “I think they will admit it – they had a rough day.”
