The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched a probe into the foreign exchange “violation” of global mining conglomerate Vedanta Group and conducted searches at its premises, officials said on Tuesday.

It is understood that raids on the department store, backed by billionaire Anil Agarwal, were launched on Tuesday (June 2, 2026).

When asked by the ED, a Vedanta spokesperson said, “We are extending full cooperation to the authorities and providing all information requested. The company remains committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations. As the matter is currently in the regulatory process, we cannot comment further at this stage.”

ED officials said “premises located in Delhi and Rajasthan besides some other places were covered”.

The investigation is being conducted under the civil provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), they said.

Vedanta Ltd is a leading global producer of metals, critical minerals and technologies. The company operates in India, Africa, West Asia and East Asia.
