The founder and Chancellor of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), G. Viswanathan, was awarded the high nobleman by the person of the Federation of Tamil Sangams in North America (Fetna) in Raleigh in North Carolina in the United States.
According to a press release, Mr. Viswanathan was awarded for his visionary leadership in the establishment of Vit University and forming first -class university education in India. The quotation also mentioned his contribution to education, politics and social development.
About 38 years ago, the Federation of Tamil’s Sangams in North America (Fetna) was introduced. Fetna integrates 70 Tamil sangamas in North America and supports Tamil’s language, culture, literature, trade and development. Every year, Fetna organizes an annual conference and awards the Tamils awards for their success in education, cinema and literature.
On this occasion, GV Selvam, Vit Vice -President, was present, the edition said.
