The 21 -year -old worker lit a daily wage after he attacked his cousin with a toilet cleaner to refuse a marriage proposal on BaskettttThall on Tuesday.
The deceased Anand Kumar suffered 80% of burns and later succumbed to the hospital, while the victim, a BCA student, escaped minor injuries on his face and body. She is treated in the hospital, the police said.
According to the police, the deceased worked as a daily wage worker in Chintamani and was a mother’s uncle of the victim. The victim refused a proposal for marriage when she wanted to watch further study. The investigation revealed that the family decided on their marriage ten years ago, but it was canceled when the girl moved to Chikkoballapura for her studies.
Kumar sensed that the girl distanced him from him, and demanded that their marriage be done immediately. The girl’s family, however, asked him to wait to complete his studies, which triggered his actions.
The victim is afraid of the attack that Kumar set on fire.
