Bharat Bandh 9 July 2025 Live: More than 25 crore workers, including those employed in public services industries such as banking, insurance, postal and construction, now on a national strike.
Bharat Bandh has disrupted the services in some parts of the country, because workers from several trade unions protest against the government “opposite, anti-farmers and anti-and-anti-cooler”.
This comes after the forum of 10 central departments and their collaborators called for a general strike or Bharat Bandh on Wednesday 9 July.
“More than 25 crore workers are expected to participate in the strike. Farmers and rural workers will also join the protest throughout the country,” said Amarjet Kaur from the entire Indian PTI trade union congress.
However, the RSS-Zarcared Bharatiya Mazdor Sangh (BMS) did not participate in general strikes and called it a politically motivated protest.
