Bruhhat Bengalur’s employees Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) went on Tuesday and influenced the civil services in Bengalur throughout the day.
The revenue, educational and medical departments were most affected by a strike that was withdrawn later in the evening after the Chief Civil Commissioner M. Maleshwar Rao promised to cancel the suspension of eight income officials, suspended due to alleged abandoned duties during the planned capital survey. The management of solid waste remained affected.
Mallamma, who works as a home aid in the Rajajinagar area, said her father -in -law fell ill and she took her to the nearest BBMP hospital, but the doctors were in protest.
Madhav Rao, the resident of Vidyaranyapury and the senior citizen, said he was in the BBMP office to meet the assistant of the income officer (ARO) in the query of E-Khata, but the office was abandoned.
Meanwhile, in most schools and universities of BBMP and universities, classes did not participate, because teachers also participated in strikes. The BBMP headquarters at the NR Square of the City also wore an abandoned look because most employees were part of the strike.
Surralkar Vikas Kishor, a special commissioner (West Zone), faced heat from BBMP employees who claimed that he tried to prevent employees from participating in strike. He explained, however, that he said only two employees – an office assistant and a driver – so that he did not go to protest to keep the office running and said he was not against a strike.
Mr. Rao visited Freedom Park, where BBMP employees protested and assured them of choosing orders to suspend eight officers. Responses to other requirements – BBMP should fill in 6,000 posts, provide BBMP Direct Recruits promotion actions, cancel the employment of marshal in the city – the Commissioner promised employees to soon adopt these problems with the state government.
Then the strike was dismissed. A. Amutraj, the President, the Association of Employees and BBMP engineers, which led the strike, said that with the withdrawal and assurances to positively consider their other requirements, they decided to call the strike on Wednesday and return to work.
