On Monday, the three -day annual “Sakambari” festival began at the peak of Indrakeeladri, the dwelling of the goddess Kanaka Durga, while the chairman of the deity was decorated as “Sakambari Devi” with fruit, vegetables, green leaves and flowers.
Within the unique tradition associated with Sakambari Devi, the goddess of vegetation and nutrition, the temple spaces were decorated with pulsating the depiction of vegetables, leaf greenery and fruit. The first day of the festival witnessed the offer of almost 10 tons of fresh products, all of which contributed generous donors and devoted.
The devotees from all over the state put the temple to offer various vegetables, including carrots, Ladyfingers, cabbage and tomatoes. Many varieties of fruit and flowers were also used as decorations to the deck of the deity.
On the way to Sanctum Sanctorum, a green canopy was distributed, which was a completely new look from the temple. Meanwhile, complicated security measures have been taken for the festival.
The festivities began with traditional rituals and floral decorations that meant the opening of a three -day event. The ceremonial inauguration was led by the Executive Director of VK Seea Naik, Maha Mandapam, while the events were attended by over 200 individuals, including Vedic scientists, members of Vaidics, temple and volunteers.
The executive officer emphasized the deep symbolism of the celebration and said that the goddess represents nature and fertility, and decorating it with natural offers is a prayer for early rain and agricultural prosperity. He said the temple watched this tradition every year since “Ashada Shuddha Trarayodashi” to “Ashada Pournemi” and is in line with the agricultural season.
He said Darshan for devotees will continue without any schedule change throughout the festival. The festival will be closed on July 10 with “Maha Poornahuti” and “Kalasshodvasana”. Temple officials expressed gratitude to all devotees who contributed to decorations and called on everyone to experience spiritual vibration.
