The fifth other special district and meeting court in Kalaburagag has sentenced the man to a life imprisonment for killing his wife after refusing to give him money to consume alcohol in the village of Kuknoor in Yadrami Taluk in the district.
According to information provided by the prosecutor Hayalappa Balabatti, Mahantappa Doddamani, Kuknoor resident in Yadrami Taluk, his wife Sangeeta ax to death after refusing to give him money to buy alcohol.
According to investigation officers Jyoti and Rajasaheb Nadaf there was an incident on December 26, 2023 and the case was registered at the police station Ilaogi. Mahantappa Doddamani and Sangeeta took 10 years and had two children.
After Judge Mohammad Majeer heard both parties and explored 14 witnesses and indirect evidence, he found Mahantapp Doddamani’s wine and condemned him for a crime under various parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
The judge sentenced Mahantapp Doddamani to a life imprisonment under IPC section 302 (punishment for murder) and imposed a fine of 50,000 GBP. At the same time, Mahantappa Doddamani was sentenced to three months in prison and fined 5,000 GBP according to IPC section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing injuries).
