The Andhra Pradesh police increase the effort to fight crimes against women and children and focuses on ensuring the beliefs and maintaining careful monitoring of the perpetrators, said Harish Kumar Gupta.
In the past year, 261 perpetrators involved in crimes against women were convicted by various courts throughout the state. These cases included a crime under the protection of children from sexual offenses (POOSO), sexual abuse, attempted rape, physical attacks, kidnapping, indecent behavior and computer crimes focused on women and girls.
Four get a death penalty
Of the convicts, four perpetrators were awarded the death penalty while 66 received a life imprisonment. In seven cases, sentences were published for 25 years, 20 years in 47 cases and 137 convicts were sentenced to a prison in less than 10 years, DGP said on Monday.
Mr. Gupta attributed an increased degree of conviction to the coordinated efforts of investigative officers, Cyber and IT teams, Mahila police, working group and support of the Ministry. “Successful results have contributed early arrests, sheet administration, witness production and active monitoring,” he said.
In order to prevent crimes, SAKTHI teams were instructed to intensify supervision across 900 identified hotspots. “Team members checked more than 32,000 public places to discourage liqueur consumption in open areas and check the eve and anti -společno elements,” DGP added.
Zero fir
He also emphasized the introduction of zero fir and allowed victims to file complaints at any police station regardless of jurisdiction. Complaints can also be made using SAKTHI.
Managing officers, including superintendants of police and station officers, were directed to monitor hotspots using drones and shots of CCTV. The public was asked to immediately report suspicious activities or anti -social behavior to the nearest police station to help prevent crimes.
