New Delhi: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the BRICS countries to cooperate to ensure critical mineral supplier chains and ensured that no one would be able to dominate and arm these resources.
Its call to the 17th Summit Brics in Rio de Janeiro comes in the middle of Chinese Chokehold on the global reserves of a rare country. BRICS is a group of 11 countries established by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
Modi stated that it is important to make critical mineral supplier chains reliable and ensure that no country uses these resources for its own selfish profits or as a weapon against the other, according to the press release of the Prime Minister (PMO) on 7 July.
“We must cooperate to create supplier chains for critical minerals and technologies safe and reliable. It is important to ensure that no country uses these resources for its own selfish profit or as a weapon against others,” Modi said.

Modi’s call to cooperate BRICS, wrapped juice to China, comes in the middle of the global lack of metal stocks of rare soils and related products due to an order to control the export issued by the Chinese Ministry of Trade in April.
China has approximately 90-95% of the world’s metal processing capacity, allowing it to use its exports for its own advantage. Metals of rare soils and their products are used, among other things, in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, pure mobility and electronics.
Separately Modi also called for urgent reforms for global “administrative institutions”, emphasizing the need to provide developing countries a stronger voice in international decision -making.
Modi said institutions such as the UN Security Council, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and the World Trade Organization (WTO) must be reworked to reflect the reality of the 21st century.
Modi’s remarks on the minerals of rare soils came only a few days after another international coalition – a four -wheeler consisting of the US, Japan, Australia and India – described an initiative with four critical minerals that committed to working and diversifying supply chains.

He said India would organize the “impact AI” impact summit next year to improve coordination between all countries.
“We see AI as a medium to improve human values and potential. Work on the mantra” AI for all “, today we are widely and actively using AI in sectors such as agriculture, health, education, administration in India,” Modi said.
“We need to work for responsible AI. Global standards must be created that can verify the authenticity of digital content in order to identify the source of content and maintain transparency and prevent abuse.”

Modi also said that nations in the global south have some special expectations and aspirations from BRIC and that India has aligned their efforts in more areas with other BRICS nations. He said that the BRICS agriculture platform, founded in India, increased cooperation in agricultural research.
“It can become a medium to share research and proven procedures in topics such as Agri-Biotech, Precision Farming and adaptation of climate change. We can also expand its benefits to countries in the global south,” Modi said.
Modi also called for the creation of the BRICS Science and Research repository storage, in accordance with the initiative of the Indian “One Nation, One Subscription” to ensure nationwide access to academic journals.
“Similar efforts have been made in other BRICS countries. I suggest that we jointly explore the creation of a BRICS science and research repository, which could also serve as a valuable source for countries of the global south,” he said.
Modi praised BRICS New Development Bank’s efforts to help nations in the global south. He said NDB must focus on demand approaches, long -term financial sustainability and healthy credit rating and add that improving internal systems in each nation will increase the credibility of calls for reforms in multilateral institutions.
