Kerala “will not accept” Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar, who “studied at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-Run and became an ideological promoter of the organization,” said the Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary Binoy Viswam.
On Monday, Mr. Viswam spoke with Mediaperonsons in Alappuzha that he was the governor himself, who set the Bharat Mata controversy and his responsibility was destroying it.
“India does not recognize Bharat Mata as a woman shrouded in saffron, holds a flag and rides a lion. Only those visiting RSS Shaaks are familiar with this image. RSS has no power to store their version of Bharat Mat.
The CPI leader said that the governor seemed to have forgotten that universities should not be held as a hostage of any political ideology. “Bharat Mata is actually countless men and women who make up India,” Mr. Viswam said.
He said Tricolor National Flag was a “real symbol of India”, said that neither BJP, RSS nor governor had the right to “monopolize the slogan Bharat Mat Ki Jai.”
Mr. Viswam also warned that the fulfillment of wetlands and unpeeled fields in Aranmule would lead to a disaster. “The left democratic front will never carry out any project in Kerala that undermines nature and the environment,” he said.
