
Member of Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Parliament (MP) Mahua Moitra claimed that the Election Commission of the Indian Special Intensive Revision (Sir) of election roles in a Bihar survey aimed at preparing Bonafide young voters during the upcoming elections. Another goal of the panel will be West Bengal, Moitra said.
While Bihar goes to public opinion surveys at the end of this year, the elections to the Assembly in West Bengal are planned in 2026. TMC will fight against the side of Bharatiya Janata (BJP) in the elections to the West Bengal.

Moitra, MP of Lok Sabha of Krishnagar, West Bengal, moved the Supreme Court, which challenged the exercise of ECI, which began on June 25. In the petition of Moitra, he claimed that he was violating several provisions of the Constitution and the Act on People (RP) of 1950.

The Sir Regulation violated Articles 14, 19 (1) (a). A), 21, 325, 328 Constitution and the provisions of the Act on Persons (RP), 1950 and registration of voters (RER), 1960, said.
In addition to Moitra, several organizations of civil society such as PUCL and the Association of Democratic Reforms and activists like Yogendra Yadav turned to the Supreme Court against the direction of ECI.
According to the ECI, exercise was necessary for a quick urbanization, frequent migration, young citizens became capable of voting, unancution of death and include the names of foreign illegal immigrants.
ECI stated that it would comply with constitutional and legal provisions in the revision of election roles.
