
Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala was looking for an urgent intervention by the main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to force the regulatory commission of the state electricity to choose its proposals for renewable energy regulations.
According to Mr. Chenninithala, the regulations would financially destroy solar prosumerics in the state and represented violations that were provided to them. According to him, the regulation would weaken the battle against climate change on a wider canvas.
The purpose of having to store batteries for renewable energy sources above a certain capacity. Such a step would result in further financial responsibility for famous, Mr. Chennithala said. The proposal of the regulation would turn people away from the solar energy projects and could lead to an energy crisis in the state for three to four years, he said.
Maniyar project
In his letter to Mr. Vijayan, Mr. Chennithal also repeated his requirement that the state government be taken over by 12 Megawatt (MW) Maniyar Small Hydro Project in the Pathanamita district of Carborundum Universal Ltd.
The contract period expired on December 30, 2024, but the government has to take the project back. According to the terms of the contract, the State Council for Electricity in Kerala was to take over the project 31 December 2024. However, the company continues to maintain the possession of the project and sells generated power.
