People residing in the vicinity of Calicut International Airport on Saturday 5th July took a march to the district collector to protest against the alleged diversion of the company’s environmental responsibility (CER) election ministers of Pinaayi Vijayan in the Kannur district.
Demonstrators argued that the deviation of CER fund airports for purposes other than the solution of local environmental fears in the neighboring civic bodies of the airport violated the rules of CER. The protest was led by the United Democratic Front (UDF) Committees Pallikkal Gram Panchayat and Condottes.
The General Secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League (iuml) of the district secretary P. Abdul Hameed, Mla, started a march. He argued that funds intended to deal with the concerns of the population who gave up their land for the development of the airport were abused in favor of the election district of the main minister. “We will never accept this unfair step. We will fight until the funds are used for their original purpose,” said Mr. Hameed.
The Chairman of the Agitation Council of Ak Abdurahman chaired the meeting. TV Ibrahim, Mla and President of the District Congress VS Joy delivered the main speech.
Members of the Panchayat PKC Abdurahman and Zareen District, President of Condotty Nitha Shaheer, President Panchayat K. Binda, Pallikkal Grama Panchayat CK Abbas, Condotty, Ashraf Madan Vice -Chairman and the march focused on the march.
