On Saturday, the Committee of Trade Unions at the State Level level referred to the general public and workers in Kerala to propose 9 July at a national strike protesting against “opponents against farmers” of the Union’s government.
The national strike is primarily a resistance to four working codes established by the Center and Privatization of Public Property, Elamaram Kareem, State Secretary General Cit and General Organizers of the State Committee on State Level, said a press conference.
Congress of the Indian National Trade Union (IntuC), Center of Indian Trade Unions (City), Congress of Trade Unions throughout India (Aituc), Trade Union Congress (TUC), Separately Employed Association of Women (SEWA), ALL India Central Council for Business Departments (Aicctu), Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) Congress (Utuc) and Federing in a strike.
According to trade unions, work regulations that have been approved without adequate consultation are weakened by citizens’ work rights and made them socially vulnerable. They also accused the government of promoting complete privatization of public sector institutions, including railways, coal, electricity, steel and oil.
It is expected that employees of trade unions and state governments, banks, postal departments, insurance, telecommunications and other sectors will be part of the strike. Hospitals, ambulances, media, milk supplies and other emergency services were exempt from the strike.
