World Champion D Gukesh lost with his countryman R Pragggnanandhaa to end two points behind Magnus Carlsen with 15.5 here in the Super United Rapid and Blitz.
After almost all defense fell at the end of the day and enjoyed a three -point lead, he lost Gukesh steam.
He started with five losses in the Blitz section before he recovered a little by drawing the sixth game, but lost the seventh. Despite winning the eighth game Gukesh eventually lost to Pragggnanandhaa.
Meanwhile, Carlsen scored an incredible 7.5 points from his nine games to return forward. Since they came in the latest edition, it has been a hint of things, Norwegian has won his last nine games that were crowned by the champion.
Gukesh was on his main condition in a quick section where he won up to six games, including one against Carlsen, but the Indian was far below the Blitz, who saw him losing six games on the start of the fastest version of the game.
It remains to see who will rule the groves on the last day, but for the time being, Carlsen remains a favorite company with 17.5 points in all possible 27.
With the nine wheels that still come in the Blitz section, Carlsen is likely to win by the remaining games left, but Gukesh has to do much better because he was completely out of the species in this version.
Carlsen had previously called Gukesh as a brand in other formats, while Gukesh managed him badly in a quick chess. In Blitz, the world champion must still prove.
