A new plant species belonging to the Pinda family in the Apiaceae family was discovered in Western Ghats.
The edition stated that it was identified as part of the research works of C. Rekha, a research scientific scientific department at Botany, St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode. The study was carried out under the leadership of KM Manudev, while the contributions of MK Prashanth of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri and Ajay Nath Gangurde from the Institute of Science, Dr. Homi Bhabha State University in Mumbai. This attractive plant, with white flowers coming from the tuber -like rootstock at the beginning of the monsoon, was discovered in Torna Fort in the PUNE district in Maharashtra.
Details were published in the July issue of Nordic Journal of Botany. The species grows up to about one meter tall and starts blooming since June. It belongs to the family of carrot cums (Apiaceae). This species has been named Pinda Mukherjean in honor of Prasanty Kumar Mukherjee, an important botany.
