Indian badminton star PV Sindhu joined the celebrations after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) retained their IPL title and shared a message for the franchise and its supporters on social media.Sindhu, who has been living in Bengaluru for the past few years, started her Instagram post with a joke linking her move to the city with RCB’s recent success. “RCB fans, I’m not saying I’m a lucky charm. But I moved to Bangalore and suddenly you’ve won the trophy every year since then. Do the math. Huge congratulations to the incredible RCB team, players, staff, owners and fans,” Sindhu wrote in an Instagram post.The two-time Olympic medalist also reflected on the journey of RCB supporters who have waited years for the franchise to become one of the dominant teams in the league. She also congratulated entrepreneur Ananya Birla and her family, who became part of the ownership group ahead of the team’s recent victory.“This franchise has brought so much emotion, craziness, heartbreak, faith and love over the years and to see them become back-to-back champions is truly special. Big congrats to my dear friend @ananyabirla and her amazing family. To become owners and immediately win a championship is serious character energy. What a start,” she added. Sindhu also said that she would like to see the final between RCB and her hometown team Sunrisers Hyderabad.“Obviously Hyderabad vs RCB final would be a dream. SRH vs RCB would emotionally destroy us all in the best way. But Bangalore, you deserved it. After years of heartbreak. Back to back champions,” she stated.Meanwhile, Sindhu’s campaign at the Singapore Open ended in the quarterfinals where she lost to world number one An Se-young. Before this defeat, Sindhu recorded straight-match wins over Putri Kusuma Wardani and Riko Gunji to reach the last eight.
