
Vishal Mega Mart Fire: The 26 -year -old aspirant settled imprisoned to death after he was imprisoned in the elevator on Friday evening during a fire in Vishal Mega Marta in Dilli Karol Bagh.
Moments before his death sent a 26-year-old-dhirendra pratap Singh-desperate news to his brother on WhatsApp and said, “Bhaiya, I got stuck in the elevator … I can’t breathe me … Please save me.”
He also called for help, but was not rescued in time, nor informed.
The UPSC aspirant was found dead inside the elevator almost eight hours after the fire broke out.
So far, two bodies have been obtained from the fire outflow, the police said. The second burnt body, which was obtained during the cooling operation, needs to be identified, PTI states.

The fire at Karol Bagh’s Vishal Mega Marta was reported at 18:44 and was limited mainly to the second floor.
According to PTI, Dhirendry’s body was restored from the elevator at 2:30 in the morning.
The officials said the firefighting effort was extended due to insufficient ventilation inside the premises.
The victim’s family is falling apart
Dhirendra’s brother Vikram, who held tears, told the tragedy and said the victim went to Vishal Mega Marta to shop in the evening.
The brother of the deceased also claimed that Vishaal employees Vishaal Marta – where the fire broke out – did not respond and that they turned off power and fled.
“Nobody tried to save him. Even the police initially responded. We still begged for help until the end of the night. Only at 2:30 in the morning he acknowledged that someone was imprisoned inside,” Vikram said or.
Dhirendra, a native of Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, recently cleaned the preliminary and was preparing for the network test. He lived in PG in Karol Bagh.
Cause of fire
While the exact cause of the fire is not yet found, officials said that preliminary indications point to a suspicious short circuit.
The police said it is likely that the case according to the relevant sections will register and added that a detailed investigation is underway.
Three UPSC applicants were killed
The tribative death of the 26 -year -old UPSC candidate comes less than a year after three UPSC candidates were killed in Delhi.
Students were killed in July 2024 after they were imprisoned for more than four hours when the water suddenly plunged into the basement of the Raue Study Circle IAS – the popular coaching center in Old Rajinder Nagar.
