The West Bengal Council of Ministers now has a total of 41 members under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. After a landslide victory in the 2026 State Assembly elections, the first phase of the cabinet was inaugurated on 9 May 2026, when Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and five senior BJP legislators were sworn in.

A major cabinet expansion took place on 1 June 2026 to form a full-fledged administration, with Governor RN Ravi swearing in 35 new ministers at the Lok Bhavan in Kolkata.

Below is the complete list of cabinet ministers inducted into the BJP government in West Bengal:

  1. Suvendu Adhikari: Mr. Adhikari sealed massive electoral victories in both Nandigram and Bhabanipur, winning by a margin of over 9,500 and 15,000 votes respectively. His electoral victory in Bhabanipur added significance as he defeated incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In Nandigram, he defeated his rival All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Pabitra Kar, once considered his staunch aide, with a comfortable majority. Mr Adhikari, who was sworn in as Chief Minister, retained some key departments including Home and Hill Affairs, Health, Law and Finance
  2. Dilip Ghosh: Senior BJP leader and former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh was inducted into the state cabinet on Saturday (May 9). In 2026, he secured victory in the West Bengal Assembly polls from Kharagpur seat by defeating the rival TMC candidate by over 30,000 votes. Widely credited for expanding the party’s reach in West Bengal, Mr. Ghosh has been instrumental in gaining the BJP’s foothold since 2019. Earlier, Mr. Ghosh served as the BJP’s West Bengal unit chief from 2015 to 2021 — a period when the BJP emerged as a force to reckon with in the state. He was elected Member of Parliament for Medinipur in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Mr Kirtania has also secured victory in the 2021 assembly elections from the Bangaon seat.
  5. Kshudiram Tudu: Former school teacher Kshudiram Tudu is the first BJP MLA from Ranibandh tribal (ST) constituency in Bankura district to be inducted into the new West Bengal cabinet. Mr. Tudu, in his tenure as a BJP leader, played a significant role in promoting the party’s promises among the tribal communities in the Jangalmahal region. He is credited with raising local issues related to tribal rights and rural development in the tribal areas of West Bengal.
  6. Nisith Pramanik: A key face of the BJP from North Bengal (the party’s stronghold), Mr. Pramanik is a former Minister of State for Home and Youth and Sports. He won the Mathabhanga seat by over 57,000 votes in the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly polls. His induction into the new West Bengal cabinet is likely to consolidate his support base in North Bengal, where the BJP enjoys significant support from young voters. Mr. Pramanik was a TMC leader before joining the BJP in 2019. He secured victory from the Cooch Behar seat during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and became one of the youngest ministers in the Narendra Modi government in the 2021 cabinet reshuffle.
