On Wednesday, the Theangana High Court issued a notice to the main secretary K. Ramakrishn Rao and the main secretary of the TK Sreedevi Municipal Administration in contempt for court proceedings on the expansion of financial assistance to poor cities.
The bench of the reigning chief judge Sujoy Paul and the judiciary Renuka Yar ordered both officials to give their answers and postpone the hearing until 29 July. Formerly, G. Srinivas in the Narayanpeta District filed a written petition that was looking for the direction of the state government to provide financial assistance to poor families in urban areas, as is done in the case of rural areas and villages.
Prabhakar, a counselor, claimed that while the government expands financial assistance of 12,000 GBP per year to farmers in villages, no such benefit has reached the poor in urban areas. The HC then handed over to the Government to consider the proposer’s representation and call. The petitioner filed a contempt for court proceedings, stating that even after five months of submission of the memorandum to the government, according to him, the highest officials acted.
