
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and US Secretary of Defense Pete HegSeth organized a telephone interview on Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense said in an official statement.
Both leaders discussed a wide range of questions, from long -term cooperation in the defense sector, including training and military exchanges, to expanding industrial cooperation. They agreed to continue to build on the mobility of this critical and mutually beneficial partnership in all its pillars, such as interoperability, integrating defensive industrial supply chains, logistics sharing, increased joint military exercises and cooperation with other similarly minded partners.
Singh appreciated the unfinished US support to India for his fight against terrorism.
He praised the US Secretary of Defense for his dynamic leadership, which caused defensive cooperation between the US and India to a new level. Pete HegSeth invited Shri Rajnath Singh to the US to give a bilateral defensive partnership forward.
In the X post, Shri Rajnath Singh said that the discussions were held to review the ongoing and new initiatives that further deepen the defense partnerships in India and strengthen cooperation in capacity building. He was looking forward to meeting the US Defense Minister at the beginning of the date.
This was their third telephone conversation since January this year, when Pete HegSeth was confirmed as a US Defense Minister.
Meanwhile, Jaishankar met the American Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth in the Pentagon, where he emphasized the strategic importance of defense links in India and the US and described them as “one of the most important pillars” of a bilateral relationship.
During a meeting in the pentagon Jaishankar said, “I’m here with you in the Pentagon because we believe that our defensive partnership is really one of the most important today.”
US Defense Minister Pete HegSeth expressed enthusiasm of the growing defense partnership between the two countries. He emphasized the integration of US defense systems into the Indian Armed Forces and outlined the goal of expanding industrial cooperation and co -production networks.
