The Central Tribal University in Mulugu is expanding its academic collaboration with leading national institutions

Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University (SSCTU), Mulugu, has announced a significant expansion of its academic and institutional collaboration with leading national institutions to introduce future-oriented programs and enhance opportunities for tribal and rural students.
As part of its latest initiatives, the university has entered into an academic collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology – Hyderabad (IIT-H) to launch several new programs from the current academic year.
Newly introduced programs include B.Tech in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science and Data Analytics and B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics and Computing.
SSCTU Vice-Chancellor YL Srinivas said the programs reflect the university’s commitment to bring next-generation education to the tribal heartland of Telangana. Areas of focus such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and computer science are expected to boost students’ academic, research and job prospects in emerging sectors.
The university is also establishing an academic association with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad to offer an MA in Development Studies. The program is aimed at training socially conscious scientists and professionals capable of contributing to tribal development, rural transformation, social justice and inclusive growth.
In addition to the new courses, the university continues to offer BA (Hours) programs in English and Economics.
The University is all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with AIIMS Bibinagar for skill development and community oriented programs for the tribal communities especially the Koya and Guttikoya communities. Skills-based programs will be offered, including Diploma in Sanitary Inspection, Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) and Community Health Worker programs.
Prof. Srinivas said these initiatives are aimed at promoting health awareness, vocational training, increasing employability and community health outreach among tribal populations through structured academic and outreach learning.
The university said the collaboration demonstrates its proactive approach to creating a vibrant academic ecosystem that combines technological advancement, educational excellence and social responsibility.
