The bitter disputes between President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk escaped himself on Tuesday (July 1) because Trump suggested that he could consider deporting the CEO of Tesla born in South Africa. The clash comes when Musk intensifies his campaign against the Republican tax and expenditure law, which warns, will damage the US industry.
Trump: “We’ll have to look”
When he talked to reporters in the White House, Trump was asked if he would move to deport Musk.
“I don’t know,” Trump replied and continued, “we’ll have to look.”
His remarks followed a number of statements on social media and on public appearances accused of Muska of hypocrisy and threatened to cut off government spending in the sectors where Muska’s companies play the lead roles.
Musk calls a tax account for “political suicide”
Elon Musk ruled the dispute and published a repackage of criticism of tax legislation on X. He claimed that the tax law, which speeds up the expiry of consumer tax loans for electric vehicles, would undermine US jobs and innovations.
“Every member of the congress who led the campaign for reducing government expenditure and then immediately voting for the greatest increase in debt in history should hang his head with shame,” Musk wrote.
He warned the legislators that they could face the electoral consequences: “Next year he will lose his primary if this is the last thing I do on this country.”
Threat to launch a new party
Musk went on and promised to launch a new political movement if the legislation is signed in the law.
“If this mad expenditure law passes, the US side will be created the next day,” he said. “Our country needs an alternative to democratically Republican Uniparty to have people really vote.”
Trump hits back above subsidies
Trump rejected Musk’s criticism as a self -service and accused him of relying on taxpayers’ money.
Trump wrote in the post on Trump’s social contribution: “Elon can get more subsidies than any human being in history, by far and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close the store and return home to South Africa.”
He also ridiculed Muska’s support for electric vehicles.
“He’s very upset. You know, he can lose much more than that, I’ll tell you right now,” Trump told reporters. “Elon can lose much more than that.”

DOGE threat and expenses
Trump suggested that the Ministry of Government Efficiency – known as the DOGE – that Musk once led could be revived into the target industries from which Muska’s society benefits.
“No other missiles, satellites or electric cars and our country would save fortune,” Trump wrote online. “Maybe we should take Doga good, hard, look at it? Big money you need to save !!!”
Later he added, “Doga can be a monster that turns around and eats Elona.”
Elon Musk fired on Trump’s remark that the Ministry of Government Efficiency or Doga should explore the subsidies that Tesla received and fired back: “I literally say – all. Right now.”
From an ally to an opponent
The war of words represents a dramatic conversion in the relationship between Trump and Musk. Musk, who supported Trump in the elections in 2024 and briefly led DOGE, left the administration in May before the launch of the Republican policy.
Musk previously denied that his opposition to the tax law is powered by fears of subsidies for Tesla and SpaceX.

Renewed Trump-MMusk disputes come at a time when the Republicans seek to strengthen the support of tax and expenditure legislation that closely proceeded in the Senate at the weekend. The bill faces further rounds of amendments and votes in the coming days, while President Trump insists that he will be signed in the law before July 4.
