Former Danish shuttler Mathias Boe has revealed that he is once again working closely with Indian badminton stars Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty following their historic triumph at the Singapore Open 2026. The London 2012 Olympic silver medalist has confirmed that his involvement with the world doubles pair has been renewed as a consultant and advisor.

Boe’s return to working with the Indian duo comes after their continued rise as one of the most dominant men’s doubles pairings on the global circuit.

“Guess who’s together again?” Boe wrote on social media after Satwik-Chirag became the first Indian pair to win the Singapore Open titletheir first BWF tour title in two years.

“Since I now have a bit more time, I secretly started working with Satwik and Chirag again before the Thomas Cup. This time as a consultant and sparring for Kim Her Tan, where I will focus on tactical aspects and match analysis while Coach Tan stays with them full-time.”

He further clarified that the coaching structure will continue to work together, with responsibility shared between him and head coach Tan Kim Her.

“Tan and I will do our best to keep the boys as sharp as possible. Four eyes see better than two,” Boe added.

Boe had previously played a vital role in shaping the rise of the Indian duo during his earlier coaching tenure which included their breakthrough performances at major international events. His first stint with Indian badminton saw Satwik-Chirag win bronze at the 2022 World Championships and gold at the Commonwealth Games in the same year, followed by Asian Games gold and success at the 2023 Asian Championships. Under his guidance, the pair also rose to world number one and won several BWF World Tour titles, including the prestigious Indonesia Open Super 100.

Danish coach he left his role after the 2024 Paris Olympicshiatus from the sport before returning in a revised capacity following a renewed association with the Indian setup.

BOE WILL STAY ASIDE

Boe also confirmed that he will be present on the sidelines during the upcoming major tournaments, including the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, where he is expected to work alongside coach Tan Kim Her to fine-tune the pair’s tactical approach.

“The Singapore title tastes good, but we’ll be hungry for the World Cup in Delhi and the Asian Games in Japan, where you’ll see me in the chair next to Coach Tan again,” Boe said.

His return adds an experienced tactical voice to an already dominant Indian duo as Satwik-Chirag continue to build momentum ahead of a busy international calendar. With renewed support from Boe, the pair will look to translate their consistency into bigger titles on the world stage.
