Three people died in an accident in Vellore

Three people were killed after a car hit a two-wheeler in a road accident at Abdullapuram village near the Vellore airport complex on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway (NH 48).
Police said the deceased have been identified as K. Anabazhagan, 68, a truck driver, R. Subramani, 72, and S. Arunkumar, 22. They are residents of Vellore.
Initial investigation revealed that along with his family members, S. Karthi of Red Hills near Chennai lost control of the car at the stretch.
Police said the car hit two two-wheelers, which were allegedly coming on the wrong side of the stretch. The car then plunged into a pit and hit a tree. All seven persons, including Karthik in the car, escaped unhurt. The incident happened around three o’clock in the morning
Passers-by rescued the injured persons and admitted them to the Government Medical College Hospital in Vellore. After being informed, the Virinchipuram police inspected the spot. A case has been registered. A probe is underway.
