The White House said on Thursday (June 26) that US intelligence is monitored by Iranian nuclear devices “weeks” before the start of air strikes that destroyed the uranium enrichment infrastructure. However, several reports suggest that Iran managed to move a large amount of uranium to the secret pages before the attack.
“We watched this site very closely,” said the printing secretary of the White House Karoline Leavitt to reporters. “There was no indication that Iran had moved his enriched uranium from the Midnight Hammer operation.”
She described strikes as “one of the most successful and successful operations in the history of the United States”.
“None of you knew about it”
Leavitt pointed out that the operation remained hidden from the media until the bombs began to fall.
“I think many of you in this room would agree with it, because none of you in this room knew about a strike on Saturday until it happened,” she said.
She emphasized the goal of President Donald Trump to avoid long -term military confrontation.
“He doesn’t want the United States to get into these conflicts,” she said. “He is not afraid to use strength if he has to, but the president has already shown that he can give America first and deliver peace.”
A ceasefire fragile with increasing speculation
Leavitt and HegSeth asked questions about the durability of a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
“I think the fact that the president was able to successfully negotiate a ceasefire when no one thought it was possible … It was a surprise for everyone in this room,” Leavtt said. “It was a surprise for the world, but the president did it because he wanted to see peace.”
Defense Secretary: No Uranus Transfer Intelligence
US Secretary of Defense Pete HegSeth spoke earlier on the Pentagon press conference on the day that he had no evidence that Iran had moved the nuclear material in advance.
“I don’t know about any intelligence I checked and says things are not where they should be, moved or otherwise,” HegSeth said.
President Trump himself took the social media to challenge the idea that Iran had successfully hidden uranium.
“Cars and small trucks on the spot were cars of concrete workers trying to cover the upper part of the shaft. The equipment was not eliminated,” Trump wrote.
Satellite images tell another story
However, there is another picture. The satellite images captured by Maxar Technologies showed a long range of vehicles at the entrance to the deep -buried place of Ford in days.
Analysts said the pictures pointed to the “coordinated transmission operation”.
The senior source told Reuters that “most of the 60% highly enriched uranium at the weapons level were moved to an unpublished place before the US attack.”
Two Israeli officials, cited by the New York Times, said that news reports indicated that Iran has removed about 400 kilograms in recent days – about £ 880 – Uranus enriched 60% of purity. This level is just below 90% of the threshold used for nuclear weapons.
Bombs have targeted to three devices
American bombers used more than a dozen £ 30,000 Bunker-Bunder Bomb to hit Ford, Natanz and Isfahan soon on Sunday local time (June 21), in what Hegseth described as “historically successful strikes”.
The full range of damage and the remaining nuclear capacity of Iran remains in the review.
