Integrated Officer for the Apoorva Bharat project on Wednesday inspected the village of Kaller in Chintoor, the Alluri Sitarama Raju district to include the village in the first phase of resettlement and rehabilitation (R&R) Polavara.
Mr. Bharat conducted interviews with the inhabitants in response to their appeal to the inclusion of their village in the list of villages to be rehabilitated in the first phase within the outline 41.15.
In a written dismissal, the inhabitants claimed that a village with 268 families had experienced immersion during the Godavari flood because it is near the point of the confluence of the Sabari rivers and silera. Mr. Bharat assured the inhabitants of Kaller that a survey of Lidar would be carried out, a prerequisite for the official statement of the village for submerged.
