
Rashtrabhaktara Balaga, a forum led by former Minister of KS Eshware and Bharatiya Janata, Shivamogg City, presented independent protests in the city against the state government decision to increase reservations for minorities in the area of housing.
EshwareAppa supporters pulled out a protest march from Ramanna Shetty Park and created a human chain in Shivappa Nayaka Circle. Mr. EshwarAppa, who addressed the protesters, said that the government led by Congress in the state favored minorities for political profits. The government has increased the budget for minorities in the last two years, he said.
Demonstrators said they would collect signatures throughout the state against the government step and the appeal to the governor to not approve him.
BJP protest
Similarly, BJP staff organized a protest in front of the Shivamogg ZP office.
Shivamogga Mla Sn Channabasapp approached the protesters and said that the government led by Congress in the State murdered a democracy by increasing reservations for minorities. The decision would be against the constitution. “When BJP was in power, the government gave Bhagyalakshmi bonds and wheels to all parts of people without discriminating anyone. But for political reasons, Congress prefers only minorities,” he said.
The Protest was attended by the President of the BJP NK Jagadish district, former Ashok Naik lawmakers, Kumaraswamy and others.
