The Union Cabinet approved several development projects in value on Wednesday £9 677.5 crore, including the extension of the PUNE metro, a revised rehabilitation plan for the displaced family of Jharia Coalfields in Jharkand and the establishment of the Regional Center of the International Potato Center in Agra.
The Minister of the Union Ashwini Vaishnaw said the meeting also paid tribute to those who fought against emergency emergency storage on June 25, 1975.
“The Cabinet of the Union, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decided to recall and honor the victims of countless individuals who bravely resisted the emergency situation and his attempt to submit the spirit of the Indian Constitution,” he said.
The key approval was a £3 626 Crore Extension of Pune Metro Line 2, which aims to increase urban mobility in one of the fastest growing cities of Maharashtra.
12.77 km The increased section connects vanaz with Ramwadi and is expected to strengthen connectivity to the last mile, reduce overload and support the targets of green mobility in the city.
“(Upcoming) metro lines further strengthen the transport model PUNE and strengthen the city’s infrastructure in the coming years,” Vaishnaw said.
“This will help in environmental benefits, reduce living costs, and make Metro Pune one of the largest networks in the country, comparable to similar new Delhi,” he added.
Cabinet also cleaned the revised main plan £5 940 Crore for rehabilitation of families displaced due to underground fires and a decline in Jharia Coalfields of Jharkhand.
The aim of the plan is to relocate more than 200,000 people living in dangerous conditions with a focus on housing, infrastructure and basic civic equipment.
The main plan of 2009 could not be fully implemented due to legal, technical and social obstacles, Vaishnaw said.
The Cabinet approved the restructuring of the Jharia rehabilitation and development office by appointing a joint CEO of the Secretary and the establishment of the Committees for Implementation and Monitoring, President of the Secretary of Coal and the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand.
“The revised main plan prefers to create livelihoods, skills and full provision of infrastructure (road, schools, hospitals, public services) in a rehabilitation location,” Vaishnaw added.
In addition, the Regional Center of the International Potato Center will be set up in Agru in Uttar Pradesh with an expenditure £11.5 crore. The center will support research and innovation in potato cultivation, a vital harvest for Indian farmers and food safety.
“Research in the regional center will focus on seed production, pest management, sustainable production and training of farmers,” Vaishnaw said.
“It will help farmers to accept global proven procedures and improve returns,” he added.
Vaishnaw also welcomed the successful launch of the international space mission carrying astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland and the US and called it a moment of immense pride for the country.
“We welcome the successful launch of a space mission carrying astronauts from India, Hungary, Poland and the US. The Indian astronaut, the captain of the Shukla Shukla group, is on the way to become the first Indian to go to the international space station,” Vaishnaw said.
“He (SHUBHRANSHU SHUKLA) carries with him the wishes, hope and ambition of 1.4 billion Indians. The cabinet wishes him and other astronauts all success,” he added.
