It is a MLC Season 3 and it shows the signs of becoming something really special – not only for fans who appear in numbers, but also for players, coaches, and all behind the scenes that they seek from a large cricket in the United States. When I first got involved, people were still not sure whether there was a temporary interest or a long -term vision. Well, three seasons, it is clear that we are here to stay. The quality of the cricket has improved. Local talent has improved. International stars appear in large numbers. And now we are playing in cult places like Oakland Coliseum – that’s growth.

Go beyond the border with our YouTube channel. Subscribe!Of course there are challenges. The US is not like India or the Caribbean where cricket is an integral part. Most of the current fanbase come from South Asian, West Indian or South African communities – people who brought with them the game. The next step is the involvement of more Americans, and it will take time and investment. But you know what? We have already started and that matters.

As a coach I love to be part of this journey. My work is not just strategizing during the match – it is also to pass on what I have learned, to help these young players understand the pace of the game and bring the best. There are skills. Passion is there. Now it is about building trust, fearless and learning how to adapt.Infrastructure is another big piece of puzzle. Our owners are already investing in the Los Angeles stadium as Olympics, which appear in 2028, I hope that the stadium will one day host cricket on the largest scene in the world. This is a vision. Hopefully, franchise will build their own reasons and start the academy. This creates a pipe.

We have already seen signs that this system works. The US national team at the T20 World Cup surprised many people. Some of these players went through the MLC system. Imagine what can happen in the next five years. Will cricket ever be as big as baseball or basketball in the US? I’m not sure. In order to reach this level here, there must be a domestic thing, something that the whole country includes. But don’t count us. There are powerful owners, passionate fans, and most importantly, players who are hungry.

With the Olympics, World Cups and ICC events in the calendar, cricket now has a global scene. The US can be part of it – in fact it is already. And I? I love this phase. Coaching feels like my call. I had time on the pitch. Now it’s about helping others find their moment. Teach players to love the game, remain ground and stay hungry – it matters. The US learns to love cricket. Fans are coming. Players are ready. And the best thing is to come.(The article is the author of Dwayne Bravo, head coach of the Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League.
