On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababa Naid, called his colleagues from the Cabinet and the leading party to actively deal with TELAngans concerning the Polavara-Banakacachero project. In the same breath, Mr. Naida accused the neighboring state of double standards and claimed that Telangana himself was carrying out more irrigation projects without the necessary authorization.
According to sources, these comments at the meeting of the State Cabinet held the AP Secretariat in Amaravati.
Mr. Naida stressed that the Polavaram -Banakacherla Linkage project uses only excess flood water and does not pose any threat or disadvantage for Telangan. Andhra Pradesh uses only excess flood water after telangana use. It’s purely for flood control. “No water diversion would damage the interests of Telangans,” he said.
“While Telangana continues with many projects without approval, they are now protesting against our legally satisfactory use of flood waters. It’s a politically motivated step,” he said.
The main minister remembered that AP did not carry out several projects in Telangana in the past without approval between the state, for harmony. ” Now it is our responsibility to clarify the facts of the public and face misinformation. “Ministers and Alliance leaders should clearly explain this to the public.
Mr. Naidu reported the cabinet that the state is going forward with the project and will make further decisions on the basis of the reaction and instructions of the Central Government. He also expressed his willingness to involve the center directly to resolve the dispute. “If necessary, we should organize an appointment through the central government to clarify the issues and reduce unnecessary friction. The Polavaram – Banakaccharla project is sensitive and our leaders have to do it with full understanding and responsibility,” he said.
Minister of Nara Loket urged the cabinet to complete the date for laying the cornerstone for the project, stressed that the delay could cause further confusion and misinformation of fuel. He said that the government must negotiate definitely and send a clear signal that it was determined to water supply and legal processes according to sources.
