The Hyderabad Hari Chandana Dasari district collector chaired the Audit Meeting of the District Working Group in Hyderabad on Monday.
With the advent of the monsoon season, the administration launched the campaign throughout the district for prevention and management of diarrhea with a special focus on the vulnerable areas of the district.
District collector Hyderabad Hari Chandana Dasari, who chaired the District Working Committee on Monday, ordered officials from the medical department together with the Allied departments to ensure readiness and coordination within the “Stop Diarhea – 2025” campaign.
The collector stressed that no death of children should appear in the district due to diarrhea and called for a reduction in the mortality rate below five in accordance with the objectives of national health policy.
It also ordered medical officials to prefer areas that reported a higher occurrence of diarrhea in the previous year. “All government hospitals must store both diarrhea and ORS bags. Furthermore, bags and zinc tablets supplied by the medical department must be opened in each Anganwadim center, school and hostel,” she said.
The collector also ordered GHMC to ensure environmental hygiene, cleaning tanks, regular water testing and disinfection, while HmWSSB was entrusted with the supply of clean drinking water.
