Commuting along the MC road continues to face difficulty due to a long traffic growth at the intersection of Venjaramood, where work on the proposed overpass did not start months after it started.
Venjaramood, a key intersection on the section connecting Thiruvananthapuram with nearby districts, has become one of the main narrow places along the Thiruvananthapuram-Kottarakara-Pathanamtta route.
Long rows of vehicles
A long range of vehicles is visible daily on both sides of the intersection throughout the day. Transport problems are enhanced by the presence of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) warehouse directly near the intersection. The 30.5 GBP project, which was supposed to uncover the intersection, consists of an overpass with a width of 10.5 m, 5.5 m wide service road and 1.5 m wide paths on both sides.
Vamanapuram MLA DK Murali said that the delay was caused by problems related to the preparation of estimates for the shift of electrical conductors, including the Ceral Electricity Council (KSEB).
“Thery of the Some delay in prepaling the Estimates for the Shifting of the Utility Lines. With Shops on Eithher Side of the Stretch and the Utility Lines Passing Through One Side, The Process Involves Some Complications. Uralungal Labor Contract Cooperative Society Limited, WHICH IS IMPERTING THE PROJECT, Will Carry Out the Utility Shifting and Start the Pining Work for the Flyover Immediales, ”Said Mr. Murali.
