The academic main plan prepared by the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) To achieve quality education in schools, emphasizes planning at several levels to ensure academic growth and development of each student.
The plan assumes the main plan of the school as a framework that includes the vision of the school, the academic objectives, the use of resources and activities. However, it is necessary to prepare class, level and individual main plans to implement the above.
The main plan of the class should go into the requirements of students’ education in each class and the objectives of each entity, which should inform the activities in the classroom that teachers need to plan.
At an individual level
The individual main plan is a bit more complicated because it requires teachers to understand the talents, interests and problems of each student to ensure that they gain academic support and motivation to allow them to do well.
Projects carried out by the Department of General Education at State Level, own districts projects and their own school projects should be included in the school’s main plans.
Learning value
In order to increase the efficiency of academic activities, students should be ensured that students will achieve learning and competences for a given class.
Along with this, children should be given experiences that help them learn values such as secularism, democracy and humanity.
It should be ensured that children develop knowledge and ability to take a position in social diseases such as drugs or abuse of addictive substances through various activities, and are aware of the importance of good physical and mental health; personal hygiene and clean surroundings; road safety; Equality of women and men and gender relationships between gender and health; and environmental consciousness and waste management.
Equal opportunities
The main plan emphasizes equal opportunities for students to study and grow and identify their talent and develop them.
In addition to academic support, this plan requires students to make progress in the main subjects. The system should be developed in such a way that in addition to mother tongue, students would also improve their skills and fluency in English and Hindi.
Modern technology should be used for learning, including for various students.
The Department of General Education has caused instructions to prepare the main plans of classes and individual main plans also earlier, but these have not been effectively implemented. The focus on quality improvement this year has seen a renewed move on the preparation and implementation of the main plan.
