On Saturday, landslide in Hosanagar Taluk hit and cut off a single road that the locals had to reach into other parts of the village.
A few days ago, the inhabitants noticed huge cracks in the hill. The MLA visited Araga Jnanendra’s place on June 17th and called on the district administration to send a team of experts to analyze the situation.
When heavy rains continued to flush the village, cracks developed further and part of the hill was moved and damaged the road. The inhabitants said they lost the connectivity of the road with the rest of the village. He was afraid that if the situation persisted, the plantations under the hill were affected.
Ravi, the inhabitants of Nagar Hobli, said that cracks were recorded during the rain last year. But no one took it seriously, he said.
“This time cracks developed within a few days after the rain. Now the road was displaced and worried about our houses and farms,” he said.
