On Saturday evening, the woman in Mannanthale reportedly defeated here, the police said.
The incident occurred within the limit of the Mannanthala police station.
The deceased woman was identified as Shefeen (33).
The accused was taken into custody and his arrest would be recorded early, the police said.
Although there were reports that the accused was drunk at the time of the crime, the police did not confirm it.
