Indian coach Sitanshu Kotak said that Rishabh Pant’s stroke filled with 134 was different from his typically aggressive knocks, because goalies showed more restrictions and control during their shifts. Kotak also admitted that India could not earn her strong position and did not reach the total number of first shifts he focused on in the opening test against England.
Pant struck 12 four and six six in his efforts of 178 balls to become the third Indian century of shifts, but visitors collapsed from 430 to 3 to 471 all on day 2.
“Rishabh Pant is someone who creates their own plans. It decides with (path) and (then) bats. These shifts were a little different than you would see it normally, but honestly, these are all his plans,” Kotak said after the day.
“The way he wanted to approach it, and when he wanted to attack, he did (and just), because he plays aggressive (cricket), does not mean that he cannot play defensive,” Kotak said.
