The worker of Bharatiya Janata (BJP), Sheikh Bakibulla, was found dead on Saturday (June 21, 2025) under the mysterious circumstances in Goghat in the Hooghl district in West Bengal.
Mr. Bakibulla was reportedly found this morning in his house. BJP claimed that it was a “political murder”. On Saturday, the police sent the body to a mortem and started an investigation.
“In this particular case, the first information report (companies) was registered at the Goghat Police Station against unknown persons according to Section 103 (1) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (Murder).
Father of the deceased, Sheik Abdullah, told reporters that Mr. Bakibullah was an activist of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) before joining BJP.
“He joined the BJP of pain and suffering. When he was in CPI (M), he was Trinamool after his life (the ruling Congress Trinamool). He attacked him several times in the past,” Abdullah said on Saturday after his son’s body was discovered.
The widow of Mr. Bakibully said that her husband went with her the previous night and that she did not know that the unconsciousness of the unconscious until morning.
“His hands were tied and there was blood on the spot. It is obvious that this is a murder. We have a clear demand for the police administration-we send the body to a mortem and find out who did it.”
Saffron also took X to accuse the “goons supported by TMC” of the death of Mr. Bakibullah.
“Sheikh Bakibulla, a BJP worker from Goghat, was hung with his hands tied. Gons supported TMC did not do so. No arrest. No action. It is not just a murder, this is targeted political violence in Bengal pod Mamata Baerjee.”
Meanwhile, Congress Trinamool denied the accusation and accused the BJP of “adding political color” to the tragedy.
At least two people died in other development, and several of them were injured in the raw explosion of the bomb in the Labpur Police Station in the Birbhum district in West Bengal on Saturday.
