Activists of the youth congress organized a protest against the Minister of Water Resources Rosha Augustine on Saturday (June 21, 2025), which dealt with the delay of the government in dealing with the deteriorating situation in the sea in the areas of Namely, Cheriyakadav and Katparamba.
The Minister participated in the program in connection with the AMRUT-2 program in the office of the Chief Engineer Keral Water Authority in the city when a group of marine entrances was caused to the venue of the Congress of Youth Congress.
The police removed the protesters who accused the Minister for not meeting the long -term requirement of the population to protect the vulnerable coast using the tetrapod -based seashore. While the tetraPods were built around 7 kilometers, almost so much remained.
The Minister later told the media that the government would take steps to start the second phase of the sea wall based on Tetrapod on the remaining 2.5 km section in Chelllanam. “We have received a study report from the National Coastal Research Center, Chennai, for laying the Tetrappod sea wall in the remaining section,” he said.
