The flight from Mashhad in Iran, bearing 290 Indian students, mostly from Jamm and Kashmir, landed at the airport in Delhi at the end of Friday, June 20, 2025).
The Indian government has launched Sindhu operations to evacuate its nationals from the Middle East, as hostility increases between Israel and Iran.

The next two years are scheduled to arrive later at night, including one of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, around 3 in the morning, bringing home about 1,000 Indian nationals.
“Thanks to the Indian government, the Ministry of External Affairs and all the authorities concerned for their timely intervention and support. Great relief to families that were anxiously waiting for their return,” said the Association of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a special gesture Iran opened his airspace to facilitate Indian efforts to evacuate. Students were previously moved to Mashhad from Tehran and flights operated by an Iranian airline were coordinated by Indian authorities.
The evacuation follows the days of air bombing and retaliation between Iran and Israel.
On Thursday (June 19, 2025), 110 Indian students were evacuated before the Delhi was achieved.
The Ministry of External Affairs launched Sindhu Operation last week.
