
Intellectual disabilities are increasingly becoming a key problem in the country and must be solved as the highest priority, said Governor Tamil Nadu RN Ravi. He noted that the solution should be found for intellectual disabilities. Organized by the National Abilympic Association India (Naai) in cooperation with Sarthak Educational Trust and supported by the Ministry of Reinforcement of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD), India, TPCDT and Indusind Bank, the event saw more than 100 PWDs from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puduchan.
Jitender Aggarwal, General Secretary of Naai and founder and CEO of Sarthak Educational Trust, stressed that they have help more than 1 laches with disabilities to secure jobs. Mr.Aggarwal also pointed out that Sarthak Educational Trust plans to launch Sarthak Global University aimed at filling the gaps in timely intervention and therapy for infants and children, lack of rehabilitation experts and others. It is planned to start with 5 schools in 20 departments providing more than 200 courses to train 10,000 specialists specializing in the rehabilitation of disabilities, inclusive education, assistance technology and more. This will allow 100,000 PWDs through education, vocational education and skills development programs.
